Choosing a multi-cloud strategy comes with a lot of benefits as it provides a “best of breed” model for services to users, and also gives them the option to avoid vendor lock-in achieving flexibility that wasn’t previously possible. Multi-Cloud services allows organizations to migrate their data to providers offering the best price, enabling companies to create a cost-effective model. It also allows customers to use their current on-premises and cloud investments without any hassle.

Reasons to Choose Multi-Cloud

Multi-Cloud strategy focuses on creating a framework that can be used for proactive problem management allowing users to stay ahead of vulnerabilities. It integrates automated security policies into the multiple cloud service setup using the ‘security as code’ function to provide in-depth access control with network, data and application security management. It is used to identify and resolve issues to minimize risks and downtime without affecting the business.

Even the Pentagon is adopting the Multi-Cloud Strategy?

As many of you would have read, eEach cloud comes with its strengths and weaknesses, and keeping in mind the secrecy and vulnerabilities associated with defence work, the US government continually focuses on looking for an upgraded and safe strategy. The Department of Defense said that the initial Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) scheme became obsolete because of the evolving technological requirements, and moving to a multi-cloud strategy will allow them to focus on new technology advancements.

A multi-cloud strategy will provide full freedom to the US Department of Defense (DoD) to use the best possible cloud for different tasks. It comes with the flexibility of running applications irrespective of the location and without any complexity. Because of recent advancements in technology, most companies now prefer using a multi-cloud strategy. This shift towards multi-cloud computing services was the main reason behind DoD’s decision to choose multiple cloud providers.

The JEDI system was designed to replace the current computer networks with a cloud-based system that would be responsible for providing AI-based analytical support to the US military. In a statement, the US Department of Defense (DoD) said that because of the shifting technology, it is clear that the JEDI cloud contract could no longer meet the requirements to fill their capability gaps. The initial Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud (JEDI) scheme was a single-provider contract, but the Pentagon announced a multi-vendor cloud computing project to avoid being locked into one provider under the Biden administration. Multi-Cloud is a dynamic strategy of using multiple cloud computing and storage services (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google) in one network architecture to achieve various business objectives. A multi-cloud data analysis platform can function using multiple data sources and deployment methods. With the evolving technical advancements, multi-cloud platforms are widely accepted by private firms and government bodies.
